Calistoga Family Center cultivates healthy families by providing integrated health and family services for a stronger Calistoga.
Calistoga is located at the north end of the Napa Valley, approximately 80 miles north of San Francisco. Calistoga is known for its spas, hot springs, and vineyards. Approximately 40% of the city's population is Hispanic. Based on local school data, 65% of the children live in poverty.
Prior to 1999, neither health nor social services were available locally. Limited affordable housing, low-wage employment opportunities and language barriers contributed to increased poverty in our community.
In 1999, Calistoga Family Center was created by a team of educators and community members who believed healthy families are the foundation of a strong community.
Today Calistoga Family Center serves as the heart of community services, directing six different outreach divisions with more than 30 different programs. The Center works collaboratively with community partners to improve family life.
