Learn more ways to raise happy, healthy kids. The Center offers classes to parents of children ages 0-18. Classes are taught by trained parent educators. Parents can borrow any number of books from our resource library.

Active Kids

During this preschool activity hour, parents and their children connect with each other by sharing Raising a Reader books, participating in bilingual songs and dances, and doing art projects that are easily replicated at home. Check our calendar of events for date.

Parent Leadership Institute

Raising a Reader

Parents who share and read books with children from infancy to age five are helping to prepare their children for kindergarten and nurturing a child’s love and enjoyment of learning that can last a lifetime. Sign- up today to begin a no cost, weekly book exchange program for your children ages zero to three.

Parents as Educators

Parents with young children receive training in the comfort of their own home with other community parents. Learn the basics of family nutrition, how to provide positive discipline for your children, or the process of child development.

Living with a teen? Parents can receive training in their own home with the parents of their teenager's friends to discover the methods and tactics of positive discipline for adolescents. Develop a strategy of teen discipline with the other parents.

School Readiness

How exciting is the first day of school? The Family Center helps prepare each child for kindergarten with a special backpack of their very own. It is packed full of fun activities, books and games, and is presented to the child and parent by our own education coordinator. The parents are shown how each activity prepares the child for success in kindergarten.

Family Center staff will help you to connect to CRC’s many resources by filling out an application and connecting you to their knowledgeable counselors.
